Aston Carter GL Accountant in Folsom, California

Job Description:

Long standing Real Estate Property Management organization is seeking to add GL/Property Accountants to their team! You will be responsible for producing accurate and timely monthly financial reporting for a specified portfolio of communities. Property Accountants work closely with various departments. Reporting to the Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly, quarterly and year‐end financial statements/reporting packages.

Perform a wide variety of accounting analyses.

Analyze various transactions and identify appropriate accounting treatment.

Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.

Reconcile monthly bank statements to the general ledger.

Review entries of accounts payable and accounts receivable team for accuracy

Process cash receipts and prepare bank deposits.

Prepare common area maintenance and real estate tax reconciliations.

Monitor daily cash balances.

Ensure accurate debits and credits.

Assist with preparation of annual operating budgets.

Assist management with special projects and other tasks as assigned.

Assist in annual audits.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalency certificate, required.

College degree with a focus in Accounting or Economics, preferred.

1-4 years of GL Accounting experience (Journal Entries, Debits & Credits, GL Reporting)

Basic Accounting experience and thorough understanding of GAAP.

Experience in the property management industry, preferred.

Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Google Apps (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets) and Adobe Acrobat.

Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Yardi and RealPage experience a plus.

Work Environment:

100% onsite in Folsom, CA.
