Job Title: DispatcherJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to join our team, working Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 11 pm. The core function of this role is to monitor and enter data of driver departure and arrival times within our logistics tracking software to ensure on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will have a background in logistics or manufacturing and possess strong administrative skills.
Responsibilities
Properly use management systems to ensure all required operational data is accurately captured in a near real-time manner.
Ensure on-time movement of goods to maximize operational efficiency.
Regularly monitor driver activities and performance.
Inform and escalate service issues to management as appropriate.
Maintain timely and professional communication with drivers and other internal contacts on issues impacting service and overall performance.
Accurately prepare and process data and paperwork including but not limited to maintaining driver activities in computer systems, activity reports/trip documents, driver hours of service, fuel tickets, and other required items.
Update driver and dispatch information into the dispatch system in real-time.
Communicate with drivers if they are late or missing from the travel log during peak times (3-4:30 pm, 5-6 pm, 9-10 pm).
Essential Skills
3+ years of administrative experience, preferably in the logistics or manufacturing sector.
High School Diploma.
Proficient in MS Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience doing this actual job.
Familiarity with XRS software.
Work Environment
The position is based in an office setting within the shipping area of the facility. The dress code is business casual. You will be required to work on Christmas Eve and New Year's with adjusted hours. The environment is low stress, and you will be onsite with one other person, making it ideal for someone who prefers a sit-down job with lots of downtime outside of peak times.
